Scotty Cranmer, the youngest BMX rider at X Games 12, grabbed the gold medal in BMX Freestyle Park. A.K.A. "Bulldozer", the 19-year-old improved upon his silver medal performance at last year's Summer X event.
Scotty's winning run started out with a tailwhip drop in on the huge roll in to a double whip over the monster size hip. He went on to do a 360 double whip over the step-up ramp and a front flip turn down over the step up to seal the deal. Before his run, he was told by some that he should play it safe and do a single whip over the hip in the first run to get in one solid run then go for it in the second run. His response was It's X-Games. There is no safe run, I am going to do it.
"This event is so awesome," said Scotty following his victory. "The riding levels are out of this world. This course couldn't have been better. It was a good day." - Yes, it was indeed. Congratulations, Scotty!
